We Love Bloggers, We Love TypePad, We Want to Hear From You
Yesterday we announced our intention to acquire Six Apart and create SAY Media. And as CEO of the new company I want to reach out to TypePad bloggers directly, echo Ben and Mena's message yesterday, and clarify some of the things you may have read in the press.
First, we love bloggers, and we love bloggers regardless of whether they are interested in building businesses around the content they create. Content and your passion for the content you create is at the center of the vision of SAY. We brought these two companies together because we believe that creators like yourselves only need more support, not less. Whether that means content creation and management tools, or you need help building your audience or making money, we'll be there for you. We will continue Six Apart's mission of supporting that ecosystem with technology and services.
Second, we love TypePad. One of the most important things that attracted us to Six Apart was TypePad and the TypePad community. As Ben and Mena posted yesterday, we will continue to support TypePad and evolve it to meet the needs of the market. We firmly believe that you can't build a modern media company without having a platform, and TypePad is our platform for doing that.
Third, we want to hear from you. I understand that change is scary, especially when so many of you have such a strong connection to TypePad and the community around the product. We want to hear what you want out of TypePad, and how SAY Media can help make you successful. I can't promise that we'll be able to act on every request or idea, but we want to hear them. You can leave comments here, you can connect directly to the TypePad support team through the TypePad ticket system, you can connect with us on Get Satisfaction, or you can email me at sayceo@saymedia.com.
- Matt SanchezCEO, SAY Media

I posted this comment on the Everything Typepad version of this post, but figured it might reach different eyes here.
I have been paying to use Typepad since 2004 and currently host three personal blogs on your service (one active, two not). I'm not blogging to become the next media celebrity so the words of your new president in the Adweek article about the acquisition don't inspire a lot of confidence.
"Its main focus is in those that hope to build media businesses, rather than regular people who write a blog for fun." - http://www.adweek.com/aw/content_display/news/digital/e3i430e0ec60c443f09e97f63d5de5af1f2
I've appreciated typepad's customer service. I also chose this platform because I liked the continuous enhancements to the platform. What assurances can you give that people like me "who write a blog for fun" will continue to have a good experience on Typepad? Will this platform still be for us or should I start porting things over to a different service?
Thanks for listening.

Amy - Troy responded directly on the above link, and as well on Everything TypePad: http://everything.typepad.com/blog/2010/09/six-apart-and-videoegg-create-say-media-a-modern-media-company.html#comment-6a00d83451c82369e2013487979696970c
But the important point was simply, of course we care about bloggers of all sizes, and we will continue to do so. TypePad isn't going anywhere but up :)

Hi Matt! How do you spell Relief? T Y P E P A D. That was the first thing that came to my mind when I read your post. Thank you for emphasizing that TypePad is not going anywhere. It truly is not only the best blogging platform available, but because of the ease of use of the Advanced Templates, I was able to learn Web Design and now help to design TypePad blogs and answer questions of TypePad bloggers on Get Satisfaction & Six Apart. I hope you will not eliminate the "Six Apart" profile on Get Satisfaction, as this would wipe out a lot of helpful information. Will you be renaming the section and leaving the content? I hope so.
Secondly, the only gripe (if you can really call it that) that I have had with the Compose Dashboard for TypePad is the inability for "Drag & Drop" technology of images in addition to a more intuitive solution for embedding videos that originate on the user's home computer. There must be a way to make it easier.
Other than that, I feel very bonded with the TypePad platform and the team at Six Apart. I've come to know a number of the helpful staff at 6A and believe them to be the most helpful people out there. They truly care about the end user and the TypePad experience and want nothing more than to improve the platform and create the best blogs out there.
I am proud to be a part of what I believe is the TypePad Team of Bloggers. I was also very interested in monetizing one of my sites, and thanks to BlogHer, was able to do that - you guys turned me down - stinkers. I had also been using the Six Apart Ad program via Adify for a while, but stopped when I went on board with BlogHer. I am hoping that this merger of 2 great companies will result in greater publisher opportunities and choices for TypePad bloggers who want to monetize their site, and that you will make every effort to promote these bloggers as well.
Thank you for easing our concerns about TypePad. I know I certainly thought that the beginning of SAY meant the ultimate end to TypePad. I hope you will continue to "listen" to your customers and care about their feedback and experience as Six Apart has done from the beginning.

Funny that, after almost a decade using Blogger, I chose this year to switch to Movable Type. I don't regret the decision, but now I care more about this change than I would have earlier. I hope it works out.

Well the interesting about TYPEPAD is that they do give you a chance to speak your idea and keep it in front of everyone.

I am starting a new blog. I wanted to add new gadgets to my blogs from another site. After copying the code and transfer to my blog template, the gadget becomes shorter or right side cut off.

Blogs can be a incredibly marketable and quite worthwhile instrument if utilized correctly. Profiting from blogs is only a matter of grabbing the interest of an audience and not carrying out any real salesmen selling.

You might not be able to control the occasions, but you'll be able to compose your response. It is possible to turn your pain into profanity -or into poetry. The option is as much as you. You may well not have selected your hard time, but it is possible to pick how you will react to it.

The great thing about typepad is the experience of blogging in a growing audience. With its built-in Twitter and Facebook plugin. It's really easy for us new bloggers to understand its interface.
