xoJane Invades the U.K.
xoJane, one of the fastest and most engaging growing women's sites in the U.S. and one of the Top 100 Women's Sites in the world has launched xoJaneUK. The British version of the wildly popular American site promises the same fresh attitude and irreverence – with a U.K. twist.
Jane Pratt, founder and editor-in-chief of xoJane in the U.S. has appointed Rebecca Holman as U.K. editor and Phoebe Frangoul joins as the Beauty & Fashion editor. The editorial team has adapted the successful xoJane formula in the U.S. to appeal to a U.K. audience.
"One of the first things that struck me about xoJane.com was the magnitude of user participation - the site isn’t just about the writers, editors and users who post content up everyday, it’s also about the users who comment on articles, answer questions, vote in polls and generally keep the editorial team on their toes," writes Rebecca in her first piece for xoJane UK. "And you know what? I think we can do even better on this side of the pond (not that I’m competitive - although I am, very)."
A huge hit in the U.S, Jane Pratt's wildly successful xoJane has as many as 700,000 unique users and 3.5 million page views a month, and was named one the “Top 10 Women’s Lifestyle Sites” by Forbes.com just two months after its launch. xoJaneUK builds on that momentum to create a home for independent, opinionated and passionate women - with a distinctly British accent.
