Changes at SAY
SAY Media started with a simple, yet big mission: to build the world’s next great media company. We saw an opportunity to change the face of the industry by cultivating talented voices with something unique to say. By supporting them with a publishing platform and the expertise needed to create memorable experiences for their readers, we are driving deep partnerships with brands and marketers who absolutely need to be part of the new media reality.
Thanks to the incredible dedication and hard work of our truly talented team, SAY is well on its way to fulfilling this mission. We are increasingly recognized as a modern media company that creates unique and memorable experiences that engage today’s digitally and socially connected consumer.
As is often the case, with great success there comes a time for change. For the past few months, Troy and I have been reflecting on all we've accomplished and what is needed for SAY to continue on the course we charted together when we made the decision to acquire Six Apart and began the work of building a modern media company. Troy has been ready for the next chapter in his career and he has decided that now is the right time. He will be moving on at the end of the month to pursue opportunities outside
of the company.
Troy has been with SAY/VideoEgg for almost six years and has been instrumental in building SAY into what it is today. I want to thank him for everything he has contributed here. There is no question that a big piece of Troy is in everything he has touched at SAY, and although he will no longer be involved with the company on a day-to-day basis, he will continue his involvement with the team and me as Special Advisor to the CEO. I have no doubt that Troy's contributions to the company will continue.
I am very excited to share that we are naming Kim Kelleher, currently Worldwide Publisher of TIME Magazine, as the new President of SAY. She will be bringing her tremendous experience in media to SAY starting in September. Recognized for her talent and achievements as last year's Ad Age Publisher of the Year for her work at TIME Magazine, she will join us with more than 20 years of experience at Conde Nast and TIME, among others. On top of all of Kim's experience and talents, she stood out as an unbelievable culture fit with SAY. I'm confident that Kim will make a huge contribution in the next phase of our journey. Kim will join SAY as President based in New York and will be responsible for sales, marketing, media solutions and content operations.
The addition of Kim to SAY marks an important step in the company’s evolution. Over the coming weeks and months, look for us to announce other news and developments as we continue on our course to create a once-in-a-generation media company.
Additional information about Kim’s appointment is available here.
